ERROR - License Manager not detecting mac addresses properly

ERROR
After upgrading from License Manager 2021R1 to 2024R2, the license Manager would not start and gave an invalid host id error. The MAC addresses detected by Ansys in the License Manager did not match all MAC addresses on the system, in particular, the one the license is issued to.

Description/Cause
This was on an VM hosted on Azure. It's mac address was set to static. A reboot was performed but did not resolve the issue. It's possible this is a bug in the License Manager, but that is not confirmed at this point.
Solution
Rehost the License and issue it to the DiskID on the machine, instead of a mac address.
