ERROR

When upgrading to a newer version of Ansys, in this case 2024R1, you receive an error stating the version of the vendor daemon is too old. Older versions of Ansys work without error.

Description/Cause

Solution

1. Stop the License Manager HOW TO - Stop/Start the Ansys License Manager
2. Open Notepad with Run As Administrator rights
3. Click on File>Open then navigate to the ansyslmd.lic file in C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\licensing\license_files
4. Remove anything following “ansyslmd” in the VENDOR line.
5. Save the file replacing the existing ansyslmd.lic file.
6. Start the License Manager
