ERROR

You attempt to launch Ansys Sherlock and nothing happens.  No launch screen appears, and no processes in the task manager can be seen.

Description/Cause

Windows WMI was not functioning properly and needed to be repaired. 

*The cause(s)/solution(s) we identified in this documented instance may not be the only cause(s)/solution(s) for this error.

Solution

1. Download, extract and run the files included in the following download.  This will perform a “soft repair” on the WMI files. 
   • WMIRepair.zip

2. If this “soft repair” does not resolve the issue, please perform the additional troubleshooting found in this article.
